Welcome to EV - Equestrian Vaulting Australia

Vaulting originates from Roman times and is best described as “gymnastics and dance on horseback”. Vaulters perform compulsory and freestyle moves to music on a moving horse at either walk or canter. This is done individually, in pairs or in a team. This fun sport for all ages promotes co-ordination, balance, physical health, self esteem, the ability to work as a team member, lifelong friendship all linked by the overwhelming love and trust of a horse. It enhances ones balance and riding seat so horse riders benefit also.

Vaulting is an EFA and FEI discipline.  Competitions are held locally, statewide, nationally and internationally and taken to the World Equestrian Games. The next games are being held in Kentucky, USA 2010.

"She explained why it’s such a great activity for all of us, not just for kids or the more horsey among us.  At a time when we all need to get inspired about our health, vaulting ticks all the boxes – aerobic activity, strength, balance, posture, and that’s just the physical side of things. Sam told me how brilliant it is watching shy kids join, and within their first few sessions, make friends and grow in confidence."

Schooling to music adds another dimension to training both horse and rider. Dressage training is vital to the health and fitness of a vaulting horse. Riding to music accustoms your horse to music under saddle and not just in vaulting.  Dressage to Music by Claire Lilly is a beautifully presented text by an experienced choreographer encouraging everyone to have fun and removes the mystery behind creating a routine for competition. Email for more info >>
